My kilns

 Hi,

Welcome to Mellyn's Glass Blog...

I'm Lori of mellyns.com.  I am a glass artist located in Central Texas.  My glass fusing all started when I was really young, I would watch my Aunt for hours as she would create her mosaics and fused glass.  After she passed I inherited her small kiln, and began experimenting with color and techniques.  My love for glass grew and so did the size of my kilns.

All of my kilns are Paragons, I really like the kilns that they produce...

This is my first, I got from my Aunt Virginia.  My husband put the controller on it for me so I could set the temperature. I would wear a timer around my neck and when It went off I would set the next temperature.  It was a great learning kiln as I had to know about glass and what temperatures work best.

This is my second kiln. It is a Home Artist kiln from Paragon,  It can do ceramics or fused glass.  I use it for testing, and making jewelry.  Great home kiln.

My 3rd and favorite kiln it is a Ovation 1013.  It is nice and big, I can put a lot of projects in it at one time.  The kiln is easy to use and is a work horse.  I purchased it in 2014 and use it almost everyday.  Best kiln ever...

Hope you enjoyed my first blog.

My next one will be on where I get my inspiration for my glass...
